The AWB prefix 724 uniquely identifies Swiss WorldCargo as the issuing carrier and tells cargo handling systems to route tracking queries to the Swiss database. The following 7-digit serial number is the unique shipment identifier, and the final digit is a check digit calculated as the serial number divided by 7, with only the remainder used (mod-7). For example, in AWB 724-12345675, the check digit 5 equals 1234567 mod 7. Any shipment issued on a Swiss air waybill must use prefix 724 for tracking, regardless of which aircraft actually carries the cargo.
